1-MB and then some [BB280]
This website is so much more than a 1-MB – or One-Man Band. Any Storm, puzzle or post is only as good as the comments and crossfire that it generates. But anyhow, getting back to Number One, what other familiar phrases, all opening with ONE [hyphen], have been singled out in the shorthand below?
1. 1-WS
2. 1-HW
3. 1-HT
4. 1-TM
5. 1-NS
6. 1-PS
7. 1-DC
8. 1-TP
9. 1-CP
10. 1-SC
11. 1-AB
12. 1-SS
SOLUTION NEXT WEEK BB279 SOLUTION: Drew, Plum, Monk, Hardy, Morse, Rebus, Brown, Magnum, Bosch, Hammer/Space, Archer/Fletcher (Murder She Wrote)

Someone has to make a start - possible spoiler ahead.
Going with an animal theme, I think 3 could be one horse town and number 8 a one trick pony.

Mr X, i thought the 6. 1-PS is something one would have seen at the beach way before i was around.
also i thought of the bruce lee inspired 1-IP, and sorry to continue to live up to the name, but the 1-EM

would they run a 1-HR in #3?

philth - I think you're right. Apparently my guess is more frequently termed a 2-PS

I came up with an alternative answer for 8 - something used in the Cold War...
