9 Lives & 2 Sexes
I had to look up ‘intersex’ before speaking to Tony Briffa, the world’s first intersex mayor, and a dynamic spirit. Here is a person who was born with ambiguous genitalia, and has since evolved from Antoinette to Tony to the Mayor of Hobsons Bay. An inspiration, and a joy to meet.
Part of the same on-air encounter was a man who has delivered over 20,000 babies – Geoffrey Edelsten. He’s also survived Long Bay, a chopper crash, a brain tumour, bankruptcy and a wife 40 years his junior. Hear how here, as well as my natter on what words are shaping to be anointed as Macquarie Dictionary’s Word of 2011. What do you think warrants the shortlist?

I hadn't heard of "meme" until this year...a crap drawing put after words to denote emotion.

I would have to say 'app' was cemented in my vocabulary as a legitimate term when David Attenborough said it whilst narrating for Bjork's Biophilia album.

Listened to/streamed the radio show. How about streaming? Tried to google this year's Macquarie WOTY nominations and found some of the previous years. The people's choices I reckon were better than the committee's. Hope you can wield some influence there, David.
'Change management' has been around for a while and makes me cringe, even when in a management role. Should be 'Change (the management!'. Plus ca change.
Found some interesting ones on this site:

flawsome and eco-cycling are catchy

SMgS - what you do when you receive an SMS that has been wrongly predictive-texted, and you have to gS the real meaning
surely mere months away from common usage

Reblog: cross reference to one blog from another.
Em — 21 December at 01:11PM
geoblocked (new word)
perspective (shift - although perhaps a few years late on this one)

Geoblocked - very now Em
And Mauve, I like that predictive quandary, which sorely does need a tag. As for meme, blimemey.
Thanks for the link too, Criseyde. See if I can't smuggle some of its gold into the committee room, late January.
