Niche Ninjas
We clocked a ton of entries in last week’s Storm, all players out to hide a brand name inside a stylish clue. To highlight one specimen above the pack is a folly, but that’s my job, I guess – and yours too.
The list below reperesents the pick o' the pack, with my last three the trifecta. You’re invited to do likewise, awarding three points to top clue, then two for the next best, and one point for third. Tallied up, we’ll find Your Popular Choice in a very popular contest.
HOOVER= Cleaner from “Psycho” overacted [RM paints a comic picture, as the janitor enters the bathroom.]
TELSTRA = Deposited in hotel’s tray service [Criseyde is lodging at the same hotel.]
ALDI = Market share of residential district [dg makes the most of short brand with a sleek read.]
LIPTON = Enclosed payslip to Newcastle Brewers [Airtight and deceptive, via Sam.]
TRIPLE M = Strip Le Mans vehicle for radio [Classy refit from dg]
RALPH = Immoral photography contained within!? [LR loves his &lits, and why not: he’s so damn good at them.]
NEW IDEA = It’s popular among inane, wide audience! [Exhibit B, with my one incision]
OTIS = Some patriotism lifts [Short biz, but enduring elegance form Sam.]
TORONTO-DOMINION = They egg investor on to do mini-onshore financings! [If the bling goes to longest, SK’s financial effort has a mortgage.]
REBEL = Halle Berry owns retro sporty gear [Or Halle Berry’s rear section sporting clothes? Nice, SK.]
ARMANI = Captivating charm; an Italian designer! [Clues maketh the man, SK.]
PANADOL = Drug to keep an adolescent imprisoned [Grim surface, with a nifty signpost, okra]
Third Prize: WESTPAC = Bank’s newest package without frills [Inventive signposting from Boniface.]
Second PRize: PRADA = Hip, rad and in fashion! [Love Em’s triptych: fodder/signpost/definition]
First Prize: APPLE = Cheap pledge centred on jobs creation [Mr X strikes once, recycling with pizzazz.]
I came, I judged, iPod. Your turn. Which brand exercise blitzes your marketplace?

Nice one DA. For what it's worth, my votes are-
1st- A toss-up between LR's Ralph and New Idea. Loved 'em both
2nd- X's Apple had the best definition of the bunch
3rd- Em's Prada
And DA, your Rebel version is a definite improvement on mine. And thanks for the mentions above....funnily enough what I thought was the best of my offerings didn't rate (OPSM), but I guess beauty is in the eyesight of the beholder!

My votes are:
3 for X and his apple
2 for Em's Prada
1 for SK's Armani
Slightly surprised to podium with my Westpac but there you go...
Thanks to DA as always

Well done Mr X, Em and Boniface - a great trifecta. I also liked you OPSM SK.

Thanks DA, and well done Mr X and Boniface. And all - some terrific clues this week, and I'm doing a little happy dance at making the podium.
I'll throw in my 3,2,1 for Ralph, Triple M and Armani. Also liked Heinz.

Always hard to pick faves. Pretty much agree with the final order, but I think Panadol might have just pipped Westpac for third.
3- X apple
2-EM prada
1-Okra panadol
Loved the audacity of Toronto-dominion, and got a wry lol out of Hoover.

Thanks okra. Taking yours is the last vote to be lodged, the Popular Choice podium looks like this:
Shared Gold on 9 points: RALPH (LR) and APPLE (Mr X)
Bronze on 7: Em's PRADA
Great Storming.
