I think i've cracked them all but can't think of an elegant way to provide a hint. I'm not quite sure about number 9, pronunciation-wise. Is the sleaze in question a Classical/mythical one ?

Agreed, a tad tricky to provide hints, or subtle proof of completion. Perhaps a puzzle in itself.
And yes, a louche Greek. Well done.

I think I have them all except for 8 (although I wouldn't have worked 9 out without the hints and a good search engine). Still thinking...

8 was the last one I got. For a while I was plumping for blind/boom & bind/bloom but then the true answer revealed itself.

Thanks Mr X, that was just enough of a hint to broaden my horizon!
