Word of the Week: Roorback
ROORBACK (RAW-bac) – a false rumour hatched to damage a political candidate’s chances at winning office [From Baron von Roorback, a man created by the Chronicle of Ithaca, NY in 1844, with an aim to stain James Polk’s reputation.] Roorbacks often entail kickbacks and other improper dealings.
