Rival brands have usurped familiar niches in the dictionary. Oil giant Mobil has lost out to its rival Shell, as the word ‘mobile’ now appears as ‘shelle’. Just as sardine has morphed into ‘sarwhiskas’, with one catfood brand usurping another. Only cold-blooded execs will be able to identify every case of commercial seizure below.
