Milton Moments
9 April, 2013
Poet John Milton was a prolific coiner of words. The author of Paradise Lost contributed some 30 words to the dictionary, from SENSUOUS to COOKING. The list below is all from Milton too, and our the target words for our new clue Storm.
Under a hell/heaven alias, all players must clue the first two words (defintion and wordplay), while pick whichever word you like from the other seven. In the end, before Thursday 6pm, send in your three clues (mandatory pair, plus the one optional word). Here they are:
DEBAUCHERY
PANDEMONIUM
++
DISREGARD
ENJOYABLE
FRAGRANCE
IMPASSIVE
JUBILANT
PERSONA
UNDESIRABLE
Scoring will be 3/1 for the first two words, then 3/2/1 for the last word. As the rock-n-roll Storm reminded us, if you can help another player adjust their wording, please do so. Though the challenge is on all of us to submit the smoothest approaches we can.
File your votes by Friday 6pm to see which Dabbler is TERRIFIC and EXHILIRATING – two more Miltonian words. Get crafting, imps and angels. May the pure deviant conquer all.
