Spam in the Sandwich

Just coz you lot gobbled Clues of Summer 4 so fast (with the final serving due on Thursday), I thought I’d share nine mercurial minutes of language play with you. The speaker is James Geary, a silver-tongued word collector, who talks about the core need of metaphor in human thinking. The riff is worth watching for three gems alone:
1) The Bouba-Kiki Effect;
2) The Stroop Test;
3) The Descartes manipulation, a marvel close to any crossword fiend’s heart.
Take a gander. Get delighted and enlightened at the same time. And by all means, if we have no clues to solve, or create, feel free to tell us about any other lingo curios out there in Webland. We’d all love to hear about them.
