Stormathon Clues 2

8 December, 2011

Second bite of the Storm cherry, to mash metaphors. Here we have another six clues from a decade ago, from slippery to savage – but all exquisite. Crack as many as you can, sharing your knowledge or hints in the forum below – all the while using your summer alias.

Next step is to unearth the six-letter word hiding among the answers’ fourth letters. Save that till late next week when you send in a clue through the Email DA channel, using your own name, or customary handle.

In the meantime, use a summer alias and have a dip at clueing for some of these six answers. The best peer-voted clue from this forum (or the pick of the send-in clues later next week) will be in the running to score a copy of Tim Moorey’s How To Master the Times Crossword.

  1. Opening of tomb in sacred surroundings disputed thus? (5)

  2. A keen, brief affair (5)

  3. Clearly aren’t in use (10)

  4. Bear locked up inside craft (9)

  5. The strain of going to court (8)

  6. Odd as sheep may be, but not goats (8)
