Summer Clues

2 April, 2013

With summer over, and the Storm taking a week’s break, I thought the time right to post some divine clues from the summer’s slew of quality cryptics. Keen solvers may spot a few they recall – all of them are worth repeating.

See how many you can solve – giving hints or pleas in the Forum. And wrangle any of the same solutions into your own clues to keep your mind in practice.

  1. Provocative poster displaying prostitute, perhaps, wanting work (5) [Times 9502]

  2. Sensed Kama Sutra might be very passionate (2,4,2,7) [Times 9530]

  3. Tap on shoulder could be object of terror (7) [Times 9498]

  4. Deep pockets are not for finance (8) [Loroso]

  5. Skirt or tie, loosely speaking (4) [Paul]

  6. Browning perhaps subverting cosy oral tale (8) [Arachne]
